The Walking Skeletons - A short story

Chapter 1 – A Sudden Wish

Sumireah had always been watching out through the window and waiting when her tooth
would wobble. After she had got tired of waiting, she suddenly decided that she should
become an explorer. She asked her mum for permission, and off she went.
Sumireah scrambled to the forest. Ufffffff.ffff. What was that noise? Did she just hear
something? She crept through the dusky forest and hid there. The strange moaning noise
continued. Sumireah tiptoed down and she screamed!! The noise echoed through the
humongous spooky house she had spotted. All of a sudden the door creaked open.
Reluctantly Sumi went in. Would she die or be rescued?

Chapter 2 – The Stranger

Sumereah was scared to death. Suddenly a white creature with white fangs on it pushed her into a big room. Sumi wondered who that was and wanted to catch it. This was beyond her wildest dreams. Sumi watched consistently at the white figure. She could see two pairs of shaggy arms and then it started to pull the white cover (blanket) from his head. She began to scream. Was it really a ghost floating in the air or was it her imaginations?
“You stay there before you are SQUISH SQUASH!!!” said the voice. You feel you were
speaking to somebody whose voice was like melted chocolate. Sumeriah didn’t look back. She kept on running through the long-tunnelled corridor.

Chapter 3 – Skeletons

Sumi ran a few steps more and stopped and started to pant. “WATER” she gasped, closed
her eyes and fell asleep. When she opened her eyes she could see nothing. Just pitch
darkness. The dark scene went clotting around her eyes and then she realized what had
happened!!! Somebody had blindfolded her and she was very upset if she couldn’t see again. She couldn’t see anything. Then she could hear noises of rattling bones. “CLONK! CLONK” went the noise and all at once she could see everything again but it wasn’t a nice sight. Two skeletons were walking about and more skeletons came in and they were all swarming around the place. Sumi wondered who had slipped off her blindfold and then realized that nobody had taken the cloth off her eyes.

Chapter 4 – The Escape

Sumeriah had to escape! Skeletons were swarming all around her. Then she thought of a
plan. What if all the skeletons got tired of prancing around because they had no flesh? Or
was it because they had an aching stomach bone? Sumi waited for a long time. She waited
and waited. At last all the skeletons fell asleep. Sumeriah woke up. She ran out of the room and across the corridor. She ran out of the main door and BHAM!!! She couldn’t see anything more. She woke up and was surprised to see that she was in her own bed. ”Oh, it was just a bad dream” said Sumi to herself. But never mind, thought she.
