Chapter 1 - The excitement
Harmony was fed up. It was mum’s birthday tomorrow and Harmony hadn’t planned up anything. Marcus and Ralph, her twin brothers were giving out some of their unwanted toys to get money and buy mum a present.

“What are you giving mum this year?” chirruped Ralph. “I’m giving her a vase made of brass”
“Oh! Everyone has good ideas, except me. Oh the unfairness. When will I ever come up with a good idea?” said Harmony to herself.
Even dad was going outside and buying mum a cute puppy. Then she had an idea. She could make a mud pie! So she went outside and got some mud. But when she started to put the mud pie together, it all came oozing out!!
Marcus came into the kitchen. “What’s the matter???” he asked. Harmony blushed “Umm…it’s about….”, but Marcus had stormed into the living-room, leaving her worrying spitefully
Chapter 2 - Asking for help
It was school time. So when Mrs.Green wasn’t looking she asked a friend what she could do. May be she could try again with the mud-pie? But her friend said “No, May be buy her a dress”. It was a good idea. But she didn’t have that much money in her piggy bank. So helplessly after school was finished she went home.
“Did you enjoy your day at school?” asked her mum.
“No” replied Harmony grumpily, “everyone bothered me”
“Oh really?” said her surprised mum. “Well, you poor child, did the teacher be horrible to you?”
“Yes” said Harmony without mentioning it. “Bother, what present to give mum?” Really she could just give her a letter saying “HAPPY BIRTHDAY”, but mum would dislike it and Harmony would probably be grounded because she sends such a bad present.
Chapter 3 - A great idea this time!

It was Saturdays morning. Suddenly Harmony got a brilliant idea. Hadn’t she been asking the others what present she could give to mum? Instead she could give some kisses to mum in a box that never stopped kissing her.
So, she got out a cardboard box she had been preserving for years. When a good time had come, you could use it. And now the time had come! So out she got the box, opened up its flaps, and put one hundred kisses inside.
“Oh what would mummy say if she saw this”, thought Harmony to herself. She was also a bit upset if her twin brothers were changing their plan and copying her! Well, she wouldn’t let them do that! She couldn’t wait for Mum’s grand birthday to arrive.
Chapter 4 - The Best birthday present
It was mom's birthday. Harmony didn’t worry about mums present now. She was already in the party mood.

“Hi, Mum” said Harmony, as cheerful as ever. “Best surprise in the world you will be receiving”
“Oh, what is it. I can’t wait” said the waiting Mumsie.
Very soon it was party time. The greedy mum sneaked up and opened the box. Kisses flew around the room.
“Oh, what have I done?”, sobbed mum.
“It doesn’t matter. It was just a present for your birthday!” chorused Harmony. “I wanted it to be a special present”
“Oh, but aren’t there any more presents arriving” asked mum.
“Oh, don’t worry, they’ll be coming!”, said Harmony.
Mum dashed out of the room. And so far, we know, Harmony’s present was the best.
