My beach journal

We were taking a drive to the beach with Veena aunty, Vidya mama and Aman

As we reached there, we got some eatables and saw now that the beach was quite changed. As we walked down the flight of steps, it began to drizzle. Then pour. We scuttled in a place for cover, and then the rain soon stopped.

We went down and I suggested that we should go to the other side.

As soon as we got down on the sand, the sand kept going in my slippers and bothering me. I removed them off and felt much better. Running around the sand and shouting, you were just too greedy when you got what you wanted.

I was told two times carefully by my Mum that I couldn’t wet my toes and taste the salty water, but I couldn’t help feeling cheeky and I did just that.

I went with Aman and wrote things in the sand. Digging and digging, the waves came and went getting water in the little well I made. It was unfair that all my hard work goes for waste, when the waves came and washed them away.

Someshwar beach, Mangalore
I washed my hands in the sea to lick it and see how salty the water was. The waves cleaned the sand by taking all the things with it. I looked over a distance and saw the sun setting down, the color changing from yellow to a golden hue.

Finally it was time to go. I put sand on my hand for an excuse to stay longer. It was time to get home and I slept for the final wave to wash me up. It was indeed a lovely evening.
