The Moonstone - A short story

It started of like this, that you may have known at the dead of night the horrible witch of all went to steal the moonstone. Well, a moonstone is a diamond glass which is kept in the depth of the grass. It is meant to be there, or otherwise there will be no sun or cloud, instead there will only be hailstones.

Early in the morning the people of Denas woke up and saw hailstones pouring down! “Hailstones don’t come in January!”. They complained. Then in her study Alienia saw what was happening and understood it all at once. She had fought the wicked witch once and the enchantress gave her a magic mirror that could show her anything she wanted! 

Now Alienia had to fight her again. Using all her strength she bravely entered the wicked witches study. The wicked witches name was Flora. 

“Now Flora give me back the moonstone or you will be in trouble”! Shouted Alienia. 

“No I won’t, no I won’t”. Cackled the witch. 

So when the witch wasn’t looking Alienia snatched the moonstone and ran of. The wicked witch caught Alienia and put her on the wall. From now on you will stay there forever cackled Flora. 

Alienia needed help. The enchantress saw what was happening and realized Alienia was in trouble. She quickly thought of a plan. The plan was to make the wicked witch to come out of her study. Then Alienia could escape and then they could pile a hard stuff in the doorway so that the wicked witch could not escape! 

The enchantress began to bang some drums. The wicked witch hesitated. Was this a trap for her? Flora got to her feet and peeped round the door. All she saw was the enchantress! 

“You little thief”. Growled Flora. She was going to put the enchantress in her dungeon when Alienia escaped! The wicked witch thought Alienia had seen her and ran back. But when she got back to her study Alienia wasn’t there! She had escaped. Piles of bricks were pelted out of the doorway of the wicked witches study. Inside her study the wicked witch died. 

Everyone in the town ran out and shouted “ding dong the wicked witch is dead”! 

And Alienia had got the moonstone and put it in the depths of the grass were it belonged to.
