Mr and Mr Peppy glanced outside their
window and stared suspiciously at the sky; it had been coloured a dark
fuchsia mixed with emerald. Mrs Peppy signed to her husband to watch
strange happenings outside the window; gingerbread men rained heavily upon Nonsense Street .
The gingerbread men knocked and
clattered angrily against the Peppy’s window panes and left smudges of icing
before they received a ‘thud’ and exclaimed as they fell on the
wooden landscape with metal grass sprouting out of popcorn that were glued onto
it.
“What an odd weather we've been having!” commented
Mrs. Peppy to her husband, disapprovingly. “It just DOES NOT rain in March!
Personally, I prefer raining gingerbread men in contrary to iron elephants.” mumbled
Mrs. Peppy and she cleverly calculated the estimated time it would
take for the gingerbread men to stop raining (‘In a century’ was her answer). Mr.
Peppy whistled in surprise to the unexpected monsoon and he digested the
fact that he was lodging in a crazy town.
“Anyway, raining gingerbread men cannot
prevent us from a trip to Nonsensical Exhibition!” Mr Peppy stated indignantly.
“But we must have tea!” Mrs Peppy cried, “Although
it is two o'clock in the morning.” So they sat down to drink some sandwiches with
spaghetti and eat a glass of hot chocolate. Mr Peppy applauded his wife
for such a wonderful breakfast which Mrs Peppy had endeavoured to make and
he allowed Mrs Peppy to get all conceited and high with his compliments.
Thereafter, the couples head to the
exhibition which happened to be open. The guards threw leaflets and the squirrels
beside pelted the Peppy’s with nuts when they entered, which is quite rude. But
then again, it’s Nonsense Street .
There’s no knowing what might happen next, don’t you think?
